CANYONLANDS

After the morning in Arches we went to Canyonlands for the afternoon sun and sunset. It is not as well known as some of the other parks but it is beautiful.   In a wild wilderness way.

The different layers of rock are different colors and make striking formations.

See that beautiful road down there. In spite of my best efforts, I could not convince Carol to drive the road into the "back country" to really experience the park. The guide book said, "Four Wheel Drive recommended" - it did NOT say "required." No cell coverage probably didn't help.

But the views from the top were wonderful.

And then the sun started setting and the magic began.

Another wonderful day.

Tomorrow we'll be up early and be at Canyonlands to catch the morning sun.
