I left Tega Cay this morning headed straight to Columbus, GA. Which took me through the middle of Atlanta. Even though it was mid afternoon, I traveled about 12 miles in just over an hour. All on 6 lane highways. That's 6 lanes each way! But, actually, that was better than the idiots going 80mph when the traffic wasn't slowed down.
Uneventful, long trip. All Interstate again because Tyler was going home that Monday so the sooner I got there, the more time I got to spend with him. There is a deserted WalMart right around the corner from Adam's new apartment. They're going to turn it into a Super WalMart so they still own the land. I called the regular Walmart and asked permission to park for a few days and the manager told me I'd have to talk to the manager of the one where I was staying. I said, "But it's closed." She gave me his cell phone number and he said, "Sure. Why not." I stayed with Adam, Shana and Tyler for three days and then headed to FL. I am NOT going to do Interstates anymore.

On the Road
After two weeks in Salem, with friends that made it WAY too hard to leave, I made a short 4 1/2 hr trip to the Stacy's in Tega Cay, SC. A shakedown cruise for the Airstream and the truck with the Honda on the front. Everything stayed where it was supposed to be and the only serious struggle was Christiansburg mountain. 4 1/2 hours because even though it was all Interstate, I REALLY TRIED to stay at 60mph. I succeeded most of the time.
They insisted that I stay in their beautiful new home instead of sleeping in the Airstream. Thank you, Elizabeth and Mike. It would have been COLD in that trailer. Their children, Kathleen, Blake and Mary Jane were in my church nursery and it was really good to get those hugs before I headed on to Adam's in Columbus, GA.
